Max Valier observatory in Obergummer

On the sunny plateau of the villages of the municipality Karneid you may enjoy a unique view of the nightly starlit sky. Therefore the observatory Max Valier and the sun observatory Peter Anich, the only stargazing location in the South Tirol, were erected here in the star village Gummer. Every Thursday evening there are tours after prior arrangement.

Planetarium with a cosmos simulator in Gummer

A journey into space - whether to Mars, Venus, or to the moon, thanks to the “Cosmos Simulator” in the centre of the village of Gummer you can get a little closer to this dream. With the help of optical precision instruments in 3D and a sophisticated sound system you can go on an exciting discovery through the endless expanse of space.

The offer is completed by an eventful hike on the themed “Planetary Path”. You can reach the starting point of the hike comfortably using public transport. (The bus stop is only 70 m away from our hotel.)
