The holiday region Eggental fascinates with 530 km of well-marked hiking trails of all difficulties Through green forests, over softly rolling alpine pastures, over the impressive mountain tops of the Dolomite mountains Rosengarten and Latemar.

Guided hikes can be experienced in Eggental from June to October. You will find a varied programme of guided hikes of various difficulties in the South Tirol Dolomites put together by the tourism association.

Hiking recommendations from us:

Pillar path in Steinegg:
We recommend the comfortable circular walk (approx 4.5 km) to the well-known earth pillars of Steinegg, about which there are numerous legends. The hike to this natural landmark is also suitable for families.

Star hiking trail / planet circular walk in Gummer:
Walk through our planetary system in only 3 hours in Gummer (approx. 9 km) A family friendly, easy, and educational hike for children and adults, which gives information about our solar system.

Spitzköfele in Steinegg:
Spitzköfele is perhaps one of the most beautiful vistas in the area. It gives you a view across the entire village of Steinegg and the impressive Rosengarten.

Eggental, the cycling paradise

From April through to October, mountain bikers, leisure cyclists, and freeride experts can experience this cycling paradise. Diverse tours, numerous climbing aids and unique views, suitable for all requirements.

We are happy to organize bicycle tours for you with local mountain bike guides, which will take you partly over paths and trails that you will not find on any map. The tours will of course be adjusted to the wishes, riding technique, and personal requirements of our cycling guests.

For your bikes we offer you a lockable storage space!

Cycling tips for our guests

• By mountain bike through the Karer forest to the Karer lake approx. 28 km (3 h 30 min)
• By mountain bike to the astronomical observatory - trail tour around Welschnofen approx. 35 km (3 h 30 min)
• By mountain bike to the pleasure circuit on the Schneidewiesen approx. 30 km (5 h)

The extensive number of tours on offer are supported by the excellent infrastructure of shuttles, bike-taxi as well as gondola and lift transport.

Profit from the close proximity to the provincial capital Bozen (approx. 15 km away) and plan a relaxed culture or shopping day - many shops are also open on Sundays and bank holidays!
